From Northern Roots to the Shores of the Oslofjord
Some places leave a mark. Others become part of who we are.
Svaberg is based on the idyllic Hurum peninsula, surrounded by some of the Oslofjord’s most beautiful smooth coastal rocks. Here, sea, land and light inspire art prints that bring Norwegian nature into your home.
Our hearts in the north, our feet on the rocks
Our story begins farther north. With roots in Northern Norway, we carry a deep connection to mountains rising from the sea, ever-changing light and landscapes that feel like home. We brought that connection south, to the sheltered coves and wave-worn rocks of Hurumlandet.
Two different coastlines. One shared love of nature.
A name shaped by nature
In Norwegian, a «svaberg» is a smooth rock surface by the sea. It evokes sun-warmed stone beneath bare feet, salt water and long summer evenings. The word «sva» traces back to Old Norse «svað», referring to a smooth place; together with «berg», meaning rock, it describes the landscape behind our name.
To us, these rocks represent something authentic, enduring and naturally beautiful.
The landscapes of Norway, on your walls
Svaberg celebrates places that stay with us: from the dramatic peaks of Lofoten and fishing villages of Northern Norway to the Oslofjord’s rocky shores, Norwegian wildlife and familiar landmarks. Our posters are graphic, artistic interpretations of the places and nature around us.
A print can be more than decoration. It can remind you of home, a summer by the sea, a mountain hike or somewhere you dream of visiting.
Bring nature home
We believe in nature’s own shapes, colours and contrasts – and in art that brings calm, stirs memories and gives a home character.
Svaberg – rooted in the north, inspired by life beside the fjord. Art for homes with stories.
